The program “Pilot support for 45 rooftop solar power systems in Da Nang city” was implemented by Green Innovation and Development Center (GreenID) in cooperation with Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade from September 14 to October 10. October 10 with funding from the program “Climate Breakthrough”.
This initiative contributes directly to the program “Million Green Houses – For Vietnam prosperity” initiated by GreenID in 2018.
Da Nang is one of two cities that the World Bank has assessed to have a lot of potential for rooftop solar energy, and at the same time local authorities are also building a project to promote development. Rooftop solar power aims to build a green, smart and modern city.
In this program, GreenID will cooperate with Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade to partially financially support 45 rooftop solar power systems. All households living in Da Nang City with unobstructed roofs, meet the program's criteria and wish to install rooftop solar power systems, can register to participate. family program. The level of support applied for each system with minimum capacity of 3kWp or more is 6,000,000 VND / system.
The program is implemented under the principle of “first come-first serve – first come-first serve – first come-first serve” until support runs out. The program is expected to last from September 14 to October 10 and will contribute to raising awareness for the people; contribute to reducing CO2 emissions, protecting the environment and climate, promoting green city construction.
GreenID has successfully implemented a pilot program of 90 rooftop solar power systems in Hanoi. The program contributes total capacity: 414.29 kWp to the rooftop solar PV system in Vietnam, contributes to reducing electricity consumption of households in the capital area, financial support and lifting awareness for people about the value and benefits of rooftop solar PV.
90 households in Hanoi have been consulted, installed and are using rooftop solar power systems in many different scales. Many people have become Green Ambassadors and join GreenID to continue spreading information to contribute to greening roofs in Vietnam.
Not only in cities, GreenID will continue to carry out pilot demonstration projects in some areas in the Central and the South to quickly implement the goal of Million Green Houses to join. year 2030.
In addition to being partially financially supported, the households participating in the program are also connected with reputable rooftop solar PV solutions providers, receive advice and install the system at a price most preferentially. In particular, households also have the opportunity to join the Green Ambassadors Network to spread messages, inspire and contribute to the protection of a clean environment and green climate.
